Jackie Buxton

Writer, editor, teacher.

Former charity PR and fundraiser, copywriter and teacher of creative writing in Adult Education, Jackie now owns her own small business teaching and editing for new and published writers.  Jackie was a monthly contributor of book reviews and short stories for Chase Magazine with some of her short stories later published in anthologies. Glass Houses (Upmarket Book Group fiction) was published by Urbane Publications in 2016 and her self-help memoir, Tea & Chemo, a year later. Tea & Chemo evolved from the popularity of Jackie's upbeat blog posts on cancer and was Live Better With's 'Best Cancer Book, 2017', enjoying multiple print runs and sitting happily in the Amazon Oncology Top Ten for over five years until Urbane Publications sadly fell prey to the ravages of Covid .

Jackie is a regular speaker on radio, in libraries and book festivals, and volunteers for charities, including Yorkshire Cancer Research, as a research lay panel member, as well as in fundraising and publicity events. Her children now staggeringly grown up, Jackie lives with her husband in their adopted home of Yorkshire.  When not writing, reading or teaching, Jackie can generally be found running, cycling or sitting around outside.
